Club History
As far as we know the Club was formed in about 1981, making us the oldest established classic car and motorcycle club in Thanet. We were formed by a group of old vehicle enthusiasts based in Ramsgate who organised the original "Great Bucket & Spade Run" that started at Blackheath (South London) and finished at Ramsgate. This is an annual event and the starting point had to be changed over the years due to increased traffic and new motorways. The Club grew out of this event and still organise it today after more than 37 years.

The objectives of the Club were and still are, to further the interest in and preservation of Veteran, Vintage and Classic vehicles of all types.
Membership is open to all persons whether or not they own a suitable vehicle. Vehicles taking part in Club events are preferred to be at least 25 years of age.
A club newsletter is published every two months, which is packed with features, documents our activities for each rally season, keeps members up to date with club activities, features articles of interest and photos galore! This is provided free to all paid up members and an archive copy will be able to be previewed on this site shortly.
Club meetings are held throughout the year on the first Thursday of every month. These meetings are not always at the same venue, as at times particularly throughout the summer, we have mystery car runs and other events starting and finishing at different places. The programme for the next twelve months is stated on your membership card which should be carried at all times when attending meetings.
If you think you would like to join us please come along, meet us and see what we do on Club nights, you will find a list of our club night activities on the Events page of this site.
